Health Research Ethics Committee

Mandate

The Health Research Ethics Committee reviews all research involving patients, their records, or human biological material within the hospital. It protects the rights, safety and welfare of participants and ensures studies are scientifically sound and ethically justified.

Submission process

• Complete the application form with protocol, consent documents and instruments
• Provide investigator credentials and evidence of ethics training
• Submit to the committee secretariat before the monthly deadline
• Respond to committee queries and receive written determination
• Report protocol amendments, adverse events and study progress
