UNTH has a long clinical trials heritage, with studies in malaria therapeutics, vaccines, tuberculosis and cancer conducted alongside routine care. Clinical research is integrated with the hospital's teaching mission, giving resident doctors and postgraduate students structured exposure to study design, conduct and reporting.
Participation is always voluntary and follows informed consent. Declining to take part never affects the care a patient receives. Study teams explain the purpose, procedures, risks and benefits before any consent is taken.
